The National Honor Society Scholarships provides 400 scholarships each year that range in value from $2,325 to $20,125. The program was established in 1946 and since it was developed, more than $13 million in scholarship funding has been allocated to students who are bound for college.

The application for the National Honor Society Scholarships opens on November 1st of each year. Students should complete their application as early as possible. However, all applications must be received prior to the February 1st deadline. February 10th is the deadline by which all principal and advisers must submit their certifications and letters of recommendation.

The winners of these scholarships are designated as national semifinalists. In addition, 24 students are named as national finalists and they receive a scholarship worth $4,500. Thus, students should be sure to highlight these four areas in their application. In addition to these areas, the financial need of the student is also considered.
