Acacia Fraternity Frank H. Reinsch Memorial Scholarship

One of the UCLA scholarships available to incoming freshmen and renewable for the subsequent years is the Acacia Fraternity Frank H. Reinsch Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually and can provide students the opportunity to receive up to five-thousand dollars a year in tuition aid. There are eight scholarships awarded annually, and any undergraduate may apply, with the understanding that the monies stop once you have completed your senior year of education. Student must meet eligibility requirements and understand that preference is given to children and grandchildren of members of the Acacia fraternity. Lea Bettelman Educational Scholarship

Don R. Shepherd Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to freshman entering the university. A donor-funded award, the specifications and eligibility requirements indicate that applicants can apply regardless of residence, however, preferential treatment will be given to those that are from San Diego County. Those that receive this award must, like many other UCLA scholarships, show demonstrated leadership and academic achievement during their undergraduate education. There is an essay requirement for this scholarship as well as individuals must discuss what the challenges to pursuing education has been for them and how the financial reward would help them in achieving their end goals. Lea Bettelman Educational Scholarship

Many times it is not the University that funds a grant or scholarship opportunity but private donors. Such is the case with the Lea Bettelman Educational Scholarship. Provided via donor funds, the Lea Bettelman Educational Scholarship rewards a student up to twelve-hundred dollars to help defray the costs of an education at UCLA. Students that want to apply must have tremendous academic achievement as they must acquire a minimum GPA of 3.5 in high school and also be a high school graduate. They must also be accepted into and enroll in a degree-seeking program at UCLA and submit an essay in three-hundred words or less that explains why the monies would help them to achieve their academic goals.
