The Bully Scholarship Edition game was developed by Rockstar Vancouver and published under Rockstar Games. This edition of the game was released in March 2008 and it is a remake of a previous version, which was released in October 2006. The game is an action-adventure which can be played either by one individual or multiple people. The game is supported on any of the following platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, or PlayStation 2, or Wii.

The game is designed as an open world setting, which enables players’ maximum flexibility to make choices throughout the game. The setting of the game is a town, which is called Bullworth, and players control a student in the town named Jimmy. The main goal is to follow Jimmy as he attempts to raise his reputation in the school setting. Jimmy is considered a rebel at his school and as such, the game follows him as he interacts with a variety of different peer groups, such as Greasers, Bullies, Jocks, Nerds, and Preppies. In order to progress in the game, players have to complete short missions. When a mission is not underway, players have the ability to roam anywhere in the school, the town of Bullworth, and nearby areas. Students are required to attend classes and after passing a class, the player receives a reward that can be used in the game.

In terms of the setting, the school (which is called Bullworth Academy) mimics a New England area private boarding school. It is situated in the United States and the student, Jimmy, is sent to this school after being kicked out of seven other schools. The campus was created using the neo-gothic style of architecture and students can also explore the town of Bullworth, in which the school is located.

The plot commences with Jimmy meeting Dr. Crabblesnitch, the school’s principal. Jimmy meets two individuals upon arrival, one who is a freshman and the other who is a senior. Through the senior student, Jimmy learns about the various social groups on campus. However, he ends up fighting the leader of the Bullies. Jimmy wins the fight and increases his social standing in the school. Subsequently, Jimmy is able to work his way into the Preppie crowd, after winning a boxing match, and the Greasers. Jimmy is also able to overtake the Nerd and the Jock groups. Under Jimmy’s leadership, he aims to restore peace to the school.

The social standing of Jimmy, however, is short-lived. He is blamed for a number of pranks that were carried out by other individuals and Jimmy himself decides to vandalize the town hall. Between these two events, the principal of the school decides to expel Jimmy. In the end, Jimmy is able to show that he was not responsible and is admitted back into the school. Overall, the game received positive feedback from critics from a variety of different publications (i.e., GameSpot and IGN). Is has also won numerous awards, including the IGN Best PlayStation 2 Action Game award.
