The Beat the Odds Scholarships are given annually. Three of these scholarships in Oregon are given in the amount of twenty-five hundred dollars each. The goal of this program is to provide individuals with exceptional talent the ability to pursue their dreams at the collegiate level. The organization wants those who are exceptional students from the state of Oregon to not have to worry about the financial burden that college can put on them by providing a bit of extra help to pay for school. All of those who apply must provide proof of their academic abilities, financial need, and explain how they have been or are beating the odds by attending school despite of some sort of obstacle or obstacles that have been set in their paths. William Hunt Professional Development Scholarship

William Hunt Professional Development Scholarship

The American Society of Travel Agents has several different organizations throughout the United States. Among them is a Northwest Chapter which covers states like Oregon and Washington. In this particular Northwest Chapter, there are scholarships in Oregon and for Oregon residents that can help pay for schooling. Known as the William Hunt Professional Development Scholarship, this scholarship is given to those who are interested in pursuing a degree and have some connection to the travel industry. Specifically, those who want to apply for the William Hunt Professional Development Scholarship must have an interest in or have worked in the field and be able to explain this through an essay response. Further, those who are interested must be from Oregon or an organizationally covered state and they must be enrolled full-time in college. The scholarship is worth one-thousand dollars and it is given on a reimbursement basis. That means that individuals must be enrolled and have completed twelve months of schooling and provide proof in order to be reimbursed for the one-thousand dollars they have won.
