scholarships for transfer students

The costs of four-year university schooling have been rising for some time, and they show no signs of slowing down. For this reason, many students who are more budget-savvy are completing their general education at two-year colleges, where the tuition is lower. Then they transfer to a four-year college to complete their bachelor’s degree and any further schooling they have as their goal.

There are financial benefits to following this path to education. You will usually save money by attending a smaller college for the first two years, and you’ll have an associate degree to carry into the job market and a four-year college. You will also find scholarships for transfer students that will help you in the pursuit of your bachelor’s degree.

In addition to the scholarships below, you can also check with any university or college before you transfer, to see if that particular school has scholarships that will fit your needs. Many colleges offer scholarship programs on their own, in order to encourage students like you to consider their school when you make your transfer plans. In addition to college-specific scholarships, many honor societies, sororities and fraternities offer scholarships for transfer students.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society offers more than $37 million in scholarship funds for members who are finishing an associate degree and plan to enroll in a bachelor’s degree program the following fall. More information is available on their website. Transfer Times $1,000 scholarships are offered to transferring students from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Minnesota. The TT magazine focuses on issues experienced by transfer students. These scholarships for transfer students are easily applied for and anyone can win, regardless of their financial situation or academic performance. If you transfer to a university that Transfer Times highlights, you will receive one of these scholarships. You may still receive a $500 scholarship if you transfer to a college with which Transfer Times is not affiliated.

Below you will find a list of scholarships for transfer students. If you meet their requirements, you may be able to secure financial aid for college from one or more.
