One of the organizations that offers scholarships for firefighters is the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. While not for the service individual specifically, this scholarship is geared toward the children of those who have fallen in the line of duty. Those that wish to apply for this award can find details here and must be a high school senior or recent graduate. Those that wish to apply must have been under the age of twenty-three when their parent passed away in the line of duty and as a direct result of their duties as a firefighter. International Association of Fire Chiefs
When it comes to scholarships for firefighters, many of the organizations that support these heroes offer a financial reward for those wanting to pursue an education. The International Association of Fire Chiefs—commonly referred to as IAFC—is one such organization. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, an individual must be either a volunteer or professional level firefighter. They must also have been employed or volunteering in this line of work for at least a few years. The goal of the organization via this scholarship is to recognize those who, while serving in this line of work, have other external goals, career objectives, and educational desires with financial assistance in pursuing a degree.
