In order to be eligible for scholarships from this foundation, students must meet a number of different criteria. First of all, the applicant must be a permanent resident or citizen of the United States. Furthermore, students must graduate from a high school that is located in Santa Barbara County. All applicants must plan to enroll on a full-time basis at an accredited program.

Students who are interested in applying for a scholarship should head to this website. In general, students must first make sure that they are eligible. The scholarship is open to students who are in graduate, undergraduate, vocational, and medical programs. Students may submit an application anytime during the open application cycle, which runs from October 1 through January 15th. However, students are highly encouraged to apply early in case of technical difficulties.

The application requirements vary depending on the type of student applying. For example, incoming freshmen students must submit one letter of recommendation, provide any college and high school transcripts, provide a 2017-2018 SAT report from the FAFSA application, and complete an in-person interview if selected. Additional information regarding the requirements for other types of applicants can be found at this website.

Student applications are evaluated based on a number of different criteria. In general, students are judged on their potential to excel in college, their motivation, and their financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA. All of the scholarships range from a low of $500 to a high of $5,000 per year. Most students who attend a two-year college receive about $1,500 while most students who attend a traditional four-year institution receive about $2,500 in funding. All students selected to receive the scholarships must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average and be enrolled on a full-time basis. All scholarships can be renewed for up to four years provided that the candidates continue to meet the minimum eligibility criteria, however funding in future years is not guaranteed. Students who wish to receive funding in subsequent years must reapply every year.

Students may be selected to interview for this scholarship. The interviews are typically held sometime in March. High school seniors will be interviewed at their high school while college students are required to interview at the Foundation during their open business hours. Students who are selected for an interview will want to be sure that they dress appropriately in business attire, arrive early, and scope out the location of the interview before their interview dat. Additionally, students will be asked to discuss their goals, background, academic history, interests, and their experiences during the interview. Thus, they may wish to practice these questions. Additionally, students should be able to confidently talk about how they plan to finance their education. Additional information about these scholarships can be found at this website.
