Military Scholarships

Choosing to pursue an education following high school graduation or GED completion is one path that many individuals pursue. Others, however, choose something a bit more daring and intense: the US military. Still, for others, the pursuit of one or the other is not the desired outcome of their life’s path. Rather, they wish to pursue both their collegiate degrees and a career in the military. For those that want to help pay for a college education while still attending school, the following military scholarships can help in paying for these pursuits. Utilize the information below to guide you toward many cost-saving opportunities or to start you on the path of scholarship exploration through your university, college, or vocational program of choice.

Yellow Ribbon Program

Yellow Ribbon Program

For those in the military, many universities and colleges throughout the country participate in a program known as the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship Program. These military scholarships are given in recognition of the sacrifices that men and women in the armed forces make each and every day. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows individuals who are active duty military or veterans the opportunity to have the full amount of their undergraduate tuition waved if they are pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree at a qualifying and accredited institution of higher learning. Many schools throughout the nation—like Penn State, Maryland University, and many more—offer this program to those who have served. The program is also available to military spouses as well. All of the details on the Yellow Ribbon Program can be found here and it should be noted that universities that offer these military scholarships are noted as military-friendly establishments. For more information or to apply, be sure to find a participating school in your educational region.
